Visit the Battle of Britain Memorial in Folkestone and uncover the story of the Battle of Britain in 1940. Get up close to life-size replica Spitfire and Hurricane aircraft, alongside the striking sculpture, and explore interactive exhibits and historical displays that bring this pivotal moment in history to life.

Step inside The Wing visitor centre and experience the immersive Scramble Experience, featuring powerful film, touchscreen displays and plenty of hands-on activities for all ages.

Younger visitors can dress up in pilot gear, climb into a mock-up Hurricane cockpit and take part in the Junior Aviator Trail, while audio tours offer a deeper insight for those wanting to explore further. Don’t miss the battle-damaged Merlin Mk XII engine on loan, a powerful reminder of the aircraft that flew during the war.

Take time to pause and reflect at the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall, where the names of all those who flew in the Battle are carefully engraved.

Afterwards, relax in the Cockpit Café with refreshments and sweeping views across the Channel. You can also visit the on-site shop for a range of gifts and souvenirs to remember your day.

The site can also be opened by request for school visits or other group bookings, with KS2 and KS3 worksheets available for school parties. Please see the contact section for further details.
